Project Overview

We are a team of freshman engineering students at Drexel University and this blog serves to document our project for our engineering design class. Our project is to design a wearable ECG monitor using Arduino technology. Our goal is to make a heart monitor that is able to detect abnormalities in a wearer's heart rate and notify them. We are also hoping to connect the device to the user's cell phone through a bluetooth module so it can contact an ambulance in case of an emergency. We hope to learn more about the engineering design process through this project and create a device that may lower the risk of untreated heart problems for individuals at risk of heart disease.
